This Privacy Policy describes how Fuel Calculator ("App") handles information. Fuel Calculator is published by the app developer ("we", "us"). If you have privacy questions, contact marcel2215@icloud.com.

1. Scope and Core Privacy Model

Fuel Calculator is designed as a client-side app. We do not operate a developer analytics, advertising, or profile-building backend for app usage data. Most data stays on your device unless you turn on optional Apple sync features.

2. Data Categories and Purposes

The App may process the following categories of data for the listed purposes:

• Trip and calculator inputs: distance, fuel price, consumption, routes, and generated cost estimates to provide core calculations and history.
• Garage and fuel records: vehicle profiles, mileage, fuel logs, and notes to let you track running costs over time.
• Saved addresses and map context: custom locations and coordinates so you can quickly reuse frequent start/end points.
• App settings: units, currency, sorting, and interface preferences to preserve your chosen experience.
• Support communications (if you contact us): your email and message contents to respond to your request.

3. iCloud Sync and Apple Services (Optional)

When iCloud Sync is enabled, supported records can sync through Apple iCloud technologies, including CloudKit private database and iCloud key-value storage. If sync is disabled, records remain local to each device (subject to normal Apple platform behavior). Apple processes data in these services under Apple terms and policies.

4. Permissions You Control

The App requests permissions only for features you choose to use:

• Location: for route setup, nearby context, and map positioning.
• Contacts: optional address suggestions from contacts during search.

You can deny or revoke permissions at any time in iOS/watchOS Settings.

5. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

If GDPR/UK GDPR applies, our typical legal bases are: (a) contract/performance to deliver core app functionality you request, (b) consent for optional permissions and optional iCloud sync behavior you enable, and (c) legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, and support communications.

6. Sharing, Selling, and Advertising

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Data may be disclosed only when required to deliver a feature you use (for example, Apple iCloud/CloudKit sync, Apple MapKit services, or when you trigger an explicit system share action).

7. Retention and Deletion

Data is retained until you delete it in the App, reset it in settings, uninstall the App, or remove synced records from your Apple account controls. If you email support, we retain related communications only as long as needed to resolve the request and satisfy legal obligations.

8. Security

We rely on Apple platform security controls for device and iCloud storage. No method of electronic storage is guaranteed to be completely secure, but we apply data minimization and avoid collecting unnecessary personal data through developer-run systems.

9. International Data Transfers

If you use Apple cloud or mapping services, data may be processed in countries other than your own. Those transfers are governed by Apple's privacy and data transfer framework.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to limit or object to certain processing. Most controls are available directly in-app or through Apple device/iCloud settings. You can also email us to request help.

For EEA/UK users, you may also have the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For eligible U.S. state residents (including California), you may have rights to know/access, delete, correct, and data portability, subject to verification and legal exceptions.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated backend systems.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material updates are reflected by the "Last updated" date on this page.
